Prepping a Fir Ladder

This week in the workshop…

The beginnings of a fir ladder. We wanted to show off how the construction of the ladder starts. After we select the wood, it’s time to sand and prepare the stringers (the sides of the ladder) for step assembly. The dados (the grooves that the steps will eventually sit it) are pre-drilled and ready for the hardware, including the step support rod. We really like to take care of the details. All of this work is done by hand in our workshop in Calgary, Alberta!
