Ships Ladders

Ships ladders are a hybrid between stairs and a loft ladder. They have a more relaxed angle, so are easier to climb and have a smaller footprint than a traditional staircase, but they take up more space than a loft ladder. They have railings on the sides and an angle of about 70° which makes it easier to go down facing forward, like you would a staircase. Ships ladders are great for cabins and tiny homes, or for anywhere in your home that’s too tight for a regular staircase.

When client's request a ships ladder, but don’t have the floor space for one, we build a hybrid ladder, it looks like a ships ladder, but has the angle of a regular ladder. Our most popular style is the Muskoka loft ladder.
