Reclaimed Barn Wood Loft Ladder

THE STORY

The 1919 loft ladder was my passion project. I love to take old items and breath new life into them! The wood was reclaimed from a barn in DeWinton, AB that was built in 1919. The piece is full of character and charm. Every nail hole, wear mark, original saw blade mark makes me wonder how the wood was originally cut and how it might have been used in the barn? I used a restorer tool to clean 100+ years of dirt from the cracks and grooves in the wood, without destroying the patina. A light sanding with a nylon sanding wheel, a coat of tung oil and multiple coats of topcoat and the ladder is ready to use for another 100+ years. I love history and this piece speaks to me. Contact us to discuss how the 1919 Loft Ladder could work in your space. We do have a very limited amount of this reclaimed wood and can custom handcraft a ladder for you.
